Oneida Floor is bringing area design and home professionals together for a fall evening filled with ideas, answers and inspiration for your next project.
If you’ve been thinking about updating your kitchen or bathroom, Oneida Floor is giving you a good reason to start asking those questions. On Thursday, September 10, from 4 to 7:30p.m., the family-run Utica business will host a
special kitchen and bath design evening, bringing together area professionals who can help with everything from tile and flooring to countertops, color, installation and design.
Bring the photos you’ve saved on your phone, the project you’ve been putting off, or simply an idea you’re not quite sure what to do with yet. The evening is meant to be relaxed and useful, with food, prizes, demonstrations and plenty of time to look around and talk with people who work on these projects every day.
Joining the Oneida Floor team will be interior designer Linda Alosio of Uniquely Yours, Sandro, owner of Mohawk Valley Granite, a regional stone and countertop fabricator, and Ryan D’Alessandro, owner of Summit Flooring,
who specializes in shower, bath and flooring installation.
Having everyone together makes it easy to ask the questions that naturally come up when you’re working on a home. Does this tile work with that countertop? What flooring makes sense for a busy kitchen? How do you update
an older home without losing the character you love about it?
And you certainly don’t need to arrive with a complete renovation plan. Sometimes seeing materials in person and talking through an idea is the best place to begin.
A Longtime Utica Business
If you haven’t been inside Oneida Floor before, the event is also a nice opportunity to get to know a family business that has been part of the area for decades.
Located at 600 Rutger Street, just outside Utica’s Rutger Street Historic District, Oneida Floor is owned by Tim and Michelle Linck of Sauquoit, whose connection to the business continues a long tradition in the flooring and tile trades.
Oneida Floor has been in business alongside its sister company, Dick Tile & Marble, since the 1960s. Dick Tile & Marble’s tile and terrazzo work can be found in schools and hospitals throughout New York State, bringing
generations of experience in the trade to the family business.
Today, the Oneida Floor showroom offers a thoughtfully selected mix of porcelain and ceramic tile, luxury vinyl tile, hardwood and carpet. They also offer installation services, project management and interior design help, and their experienced team can help homeowners work through the inevitable questions that come up once a project begins.
Years in the flooring business have also left them with a collection of fun vintage tile finds. If you love old patterns, interesting colors or simply finding something you don’t see everywhere else, it’s worth asking to take a look. In an area filled with beautiful older homes, sometimes that unexpected piece is exactly what a room needs.
Oneida Floor also carries supplies for people in the trades, including quarry tile, VCT, wall base, adhesives, mortars and tools.
