Eighty years of continuous family ownership—an impressive legacy. Happy anniversary, Twin Ponds.
We took a look back to 1946, when the Girmonde family purchased the S.R. Campbell estate. Ann Girmonde and her husband, Sam (pictured), along with Sam’s brother Jim, acquired the property below market value after it had suffered a fire.
We loved the old garden photo and learned that, over the years, the grounds were used not only for parties but also for dog shows. Like the garden scene, the buildings remain recognizable, with delightful details from another era that are especially fun—the cars, the clothing, the hairstyles, and my favorite: a three-wheeled golf cart.
For eighty years, the Girmonde family has gathered people to celebrate, to play the unforgiving game of golf, and to create a place where decades of memories have been made. What a lovely family legacy.
