Oh, What A Night!

Jersey Boys brings the unforgettable story and music of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons to The Stanley Theatre!

Some songs need only a few notes before you know exactly what’s coming. “Sherry.” “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” “Walk Like a Man.” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.”

This October, those songs and the remarkable story behind them will fill The Stanley Theatre when Jersey Boys comes to Utica for two performances, October 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m., presented by Broadway Utica as part of its 2026-2027 season.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Tony Award-winning musical tells the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, four young men from New Jersey whose unmistakable sound carried them from working-class beginnings to international fame and, eventually, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

But Jersey Boys is more than a collection of familiar songs.

The musical takes audiences behind the polished harmonies and matching suits to tell a much more complicated story of friendship, ambition, loyalty, disagreements and the price that can come with success.

Told through the perspectives of the four members of the group, the show reveals how differently each man remembers their rise to fame. And then, of course, there’s the music.

The production is packed with songs that became part of the soundtrack of a generation, including “Sherry,” “Beggin’,” “Working My Way Back to You,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night).

Even for those who didn’t grow up listening to The Four Seasons on the radio, it’s hard not to recognize the songs that have continued to find new audiences decade after decade.

Since opening on Broadway in 2005, Jersey Boys has become one of musical theater’s enduring favorites.

It won four Tony Awards in 2006, including Best Musical, and its success has extended well beyond Broadway, with productions and audiences around the world.

Its return to Utica also brings another opportunity to experience Broadway in one of the Mohawk Valley’s most treasured spaces. The Stanley opened in 1928 as a grand movie palace and remains a beautiful setting for live
theater nearly a century later.

There’s something special about walking beneath The Stanley marquee, finding your seat and watching the curtain rise without ever leaving the Mohawk Valley.

For two nights this October, the story of four Jersey boys, an extraordinary voice and a string of songs America never forgot will take the stage in downtown Utica.

And chances are, you’ll know more than a few words.
