Building Opportunity at Mastrovito Chevrolet

Frank Mastrovito, the acquisition of Mastrovito Chevrolet was never simply about adding another dealership to the company portfolio. It was about creating opportunity.
Since officially opening earlier this year, the dealership has represented an important new chapter not only for the Mastrovito family of dealerships, but for the employees, customers, and community that continue to support its growth across the Mohawk Valley.
“We were able to retain every single employee, which was a huge goal for us,” Mastrovito says. “We’ve brought the processes, technology, and customer-first culture that we built at Hyundai into Chevrolet, while also building on the strong foundation that was already here.”
That people-first philosophy has become a defining part of the company’s culture.
Internally, Mastrovito describes the business mission simply: employee first, customer first follows naturally.
“Our mission is employee first so our customers can come first,” he says. “If we take care of our team, they’re going to take care of the person standing in front of them.”
For Mastrovito, growth is not measured solely in sales numbers or expansion. Much of the reward comes from watching employees grow alongside the company itself.
“One of the greatest gifts as a business owner is watching people buy their first home, buy the boat or camp they always wanted, or get the promotion they worked toward,” he says. “That’s what matters most to me.”
That mindset helped fuel the decision to expand. As the organization continued to grow, so did the opportunities available to team members across departments, creating pathways for advancement and leadership throughout the company.
Mastrovito says one of the most rewarding parts of growing the business has been watching employees continue to build successful careers and reach personal milestones along the way.
The same philosophy extends well beyond the showroom floor. Over the years, the Mastrovito dealerships have become deeply involved in community initiatives throughout the region, including support for nonprofit organizations, fundraising efforts, youth initiatives, and events benefiting local families and children.
From community walks and charitable partnerships to local causes throughout the Mohawk Valley, giving back has become an important part of the company culture.
Mastrovito says businesses should use their platform to advocate for and support the community whenever possible, adding that community involvement will continue to remain central to the Chevrolet dealership.
As the company continues to grow, Mastrovito says the focus remains on maintaining the culture and customer experience that helped build the organization in the first place.
From the showroom floor to the service department, the emphasis remains on consistency, relationships, and creating an environment where both employees and customers feel valued.
“You can bring in processes and systems, but at the end of the day it’s really about people,” Mastrovito says. “That’s what drives long-term success.”
SUVs and family-focused vehicles continue to remain among the dealership’s most popular sellers, reflecting the everyday needs of local drivers throughout the Mohawk Valley.
Mastrovito says understanding the community and building long-term trust with customers will always remain one of the most important parts of the business.
For now, the focus remains on continuing to build, not just the business itself, but the culture behind it.
“Growth creates opportunity,” Mastrovito says. “For our employees, our customers, and our community, that’s what this is really about.”
“We do good because it’s the right thing to do,” Mastrovito says. “We wouldn’t be in this position if it wasn’t for the community supporting us in the first place.”
