Every summer, thousands of visitors make their way to the Utica Maennerchor for one of the Mohawk Valley’s most beloved cultural traditions: the annual Bavarian Festival. Returning this year on Friday, July 17, from 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, July 18, from 3 to 10 p.m., the festival transforms the club’s Marcy property into a lively celebration of German heritage, music, food, and community.
Guests can expect authentic German specialties, imported beers, hometown favorites, and live entertainment from German band “Die Lustigen Almdudlers.” Families can also enjoy the festival’s dedicated “Kinder Corner” for children.
For many across the Mohawk Valley, the Bavarian Festival has become a summer tradition that feels both nostalgic and distinctly local. Friends gather under the pavilion with steins in hand, music fills the air late into the evening, and generations come together to celebrate a piece of local history that dates back more than 160 years.
Founded in 1865, the Utica Maennerchor remains one of New York State’s oldest nonprofit organizations. For many across the Mohawk Valley, the Bavarian Festival has become a summer tradition where generations gather to celebrate local history, culture, and community. Admission is $5, children under 12 are free with an adult, and the event is cash-only.
